Senior Women’s Twenty20: Gujarat cruises to a comfortable victory against J&K
At the ACA Stadium in Barsapara on Tuesday, the Gujarat senior women’s team cruised to a facile victory against the J&K senior women’s squad in the Senior Women T20 Trophy.
It gave the impression that J&K’s hitters had come out to play a test match with hardly none of its batters displaying any intention to score. On the other hand, Gujarat demonstrated how precisely Twenty20 cricket should be played by securing an 8-wicket victory with 20 balls still to go.
While J&K was up to bat first, they were only able to score a meagre total of 76 runs on the board. The guest player, AN Tomar, received a lot of attention; nevertheless, she was unable to make an impression in her first match, since she only made run-a-ball 13.
The fact that J&K’s opener Shivanti Gupta and Sheerazah Bano played with strike rates of 46 and 41, respectively, respectively, eliminated any hope of the team achieving a score that was competitive.
The number five spot was given to Bushra Ashraf, who had been successful during the previous season batting further up in the order. She scored a 15 on a 17 that seemed to be taken slowly. Both Hiralben and Stuti took a wicket for Gujarat (the team they were playing for).
In their reply, Gujarat reached their target in 16.4 overs, despite the fact that AN Tomar, Sandhya, and Bismah Hassan all bowled tight spells. Bhavani Golpani scored 31 runs off 28 balls, while Simran scored 28 runs off 39 balls to stay their top scorers.
