J&K gets defeated by Uttar Pradesh in the U19 Vinoo Mankad Trophy by a score of 35 runs.
In the second round of the current U-19 Vinoo Mankad Trophy, which took place on Saturday in Dehradun, J&K was defeated by Uttar Pradesh pretty convincingly after the first match was postponed due to rain.
J&K’s Hatim Reyaz (73 runs off 43 balls) and Udhay Partap (3 wickets) were their team’s best performers, but it wasn’t enough to prevent UP from claiming victory by 35 runs. UP’s final score was 170-35. (VJD method).
Earlier, when Uttar Pradesh was given the opportunity to bat first, they amassed a massive total of 304 runs on the board in the allowed 50 overs. Prashant Veer shined brightly with a superb undefeated effort of 129 runs in 86 balls. He faced no opposition throughout his innings.
Udhay Pratap was able to collect three wickets for J&K, while Urooj Parvez was able to take two scalps.
After J&K’s response, the score was cut to 49-5, but play was halted because of rain. When play was restarted, it was Hatim Reyaz’s responsibility to make sure that J&K put up a good fight throughout the contest.
His dazzling performance saw him score 73 runs in only 43 balls. While Ajay Kumar grabbed three wickets for UP, no other J&K hitter was able to accomplish much of anything. J&K were dismissed for 160 runs in 23 overs after being bowled out.
