I’m driving in runs, but I’m not getting any opportunities: A young man from India finally speaks up about the latest slight.

Srinagar: Prithvi Shaw, a member of Team India’s youth squad who is currently underutilised, has said that he is fulfilling all of the requirements placed upon him, but he is not being given an opportunity to play for the team.

The brilliant opener is absent from the India side for the one-day international series that is presently being played against South Africa.

In the previous season of the Ranji Trophy, Prithvi Shaw delivered regular performances for Mumbai, as well as for India ‘A’ in the one-day series against New Zealand ‘A.

Shaw shared his displeasure with Mid-Day on the fact that he was not chosen for the team in an interview with the publication.

“I was quite dissatisfied. Shaw expressed his frustration by stating, “I am scoring runs and putting in a lot of hard work, but I am not getting a shot.”

“But don’t worry about it. If the national selectors believe that I am ready, then they will include me on the team. He went on to say, “I will make sure I do my best and maintain my fitness levels up to the standard whatsoever opportunity I receive, whether it is for India ‘A or other teams.”

Shaw also said that he has improved his nutrition and shed about 7-8 kg of weight since the beginning of the Indian Premier League season earlier this year.

“I did not focus on various aspects of my batting, but I did a significant amount of work on my fitness. After the last IPL, I had concentrated on being thinner and had lost between seven and eight kg as a result of my efforts. I eliminated all sweets and carbonated beverages from my diet, as well as increased my time spent working out at the gym and jogging. “As of right moment, I do not provide any dishes that are Chinese in any way,” the young server said.

The next competition that Shaw will participate in is the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

“During our time here [in Ahmedabad], we competed in a few exhibition matches. Every single player is in excellent physical form. We have quality bowlers, batters, and all-rounders on our team. In my opinion, they have a very formidable squad. I have high hopes that we will have success as a group since all of the members of the support staff are putting in a lot of effort into our preparation. Shaw said that all of the players on this squad have a history someplace, have competed at a high level, and have experience.
